The Abi Project began with Abdul Kayum — or “Abi,” as we called him — a developer and visionary who helped bring our avatar technology to life. His work was at the heart of a new bridge we were building: one that connects the digital world to the human one, instantly and intelligently.
Abi helped us launch our first prototype in the health insurance space — an AI-powered avatar that didn’t just collect leads, but spoke, qualified, and guided people toward real conversations. Unlike the old model where users filled out a form and waited for a callback — often missed or mistimed — this avatar created immediate interaction: a bridge from click to human connection. It filtered the lead, then instantly brought in a live person when it mattered.
This was more than a tech upgrade. It solved one of the biggest problems in marketing: connect rates. Ads and websites do well at attracting interest, but the handoff to real people is slow, expensive, and unreliable. With avatars like the one Abi helped design, we created a smarter funnel — one that respects both the consumer’s urgency and the business’s time.
When Abi passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife and three daughters, we realized the technology he was building had the power to preserve him as well. His voice, his presence, his passion — all still here.
That’s when The Abi Project evolved:
Not just a sales tool, but a legacy system — one that allows families to preserve their loved ones as interactive, intelligent avatars for future generations.
Where We Are Now
We’ve created a small demo version of Abi’s avatar, using a voice clip from his original avatar demo reel and a photo provided by his brother. It’s not yet fully interactive — but it’s a meaningful first step. Our goal is to develop a full version that will one day hold real conversations, preserve more of his expressions, and allow his loved ones to experience his presence in a new way.
Below, you’ll also see an earlier demo featuring Bob Marley.
That avatar was actually built by Abi himself in September 2023, during our early experiments with this technology. It was never about the celebrity — it was about proving what was possible. Since then, we’ve come a long way.
You’ll notice the Health Insurance Avatar demo (also shown below) is faster, smoother, and more expressive — thanks in part to what we learned from Abi’s work. His legacy is literally built into our progress.
And now, we want to make his avatar even better — with the help of his family. A few more photos. A voice note or two. A bit of context or memory. Small things that can help create something beautiful, dynamic, and enduring — not just for today, but for years or even decades to come.
Abi’s avatar is still in progress. But his story has already begun. It started with Abi. It now belongs to every story worth remembering.
